With the 5km limit in place, your usual candlelit dinner, spa day or overnight stay is out of the question for Valentine’s Day. Hopefully, these ideas will help you come up with a creative way to celebrate despite the circumstances.

1. Send a Valentine
 
Put pen to paper or card. In this unprecedented situation, sending a handwritten note is far better than a text, whether it’s to your closest girlfriends or someone important in your life.  Handmade is best! Although it requires a bit of preparation, the gift of time is the most precious of all. 2. Make a Couples Brunch

3. Bake Something Sweet
 
The way to someone’s heart is through their stomach. Decorate some biscuits with red and pink icing, however they turn out it’s the sweet thought that counts. 4. Take a Virtual Tour

There’s nothing wrong with planning for the future and doing a little daydreaming. Although we can’t escape the British winter now, scanning the internet for your next holiday destination can be quite exciting. Besides holidays, you can take a virtual trip through some of the world’s best art collections. 5. Mix Cocktails
 
Bring the bar to you with a cocktail making evening with your friends. It also gives you a good opportunity for a laugh and a catch up on what can be a polarizing holiday.

6. Play Games

Diving into a long round of scrabble or a game of your choice besides a warm log fire is really romantic. 7. Have a Movie Night
 
A tried and tested favourite for Valentine’s evening is watching a heart-warming romantic comedy with your friends. This one also works if you are apart via the new Netflix Party and other shared streaming services. So, grab a drink, some popcorn, a blanket, and settle down for a couple of hours. Additionally, you can quite easily purchase a projector these days for the full cinema experience.

8. Make a Romantic Dinner

Keep your evening simple and fancy! Pretend you are at a romantic restaurant. Even though we all love our pyjamas, spend a bit of time getting dressed up to the nines. You will definitely impress your other half with a bottle of Pale Fox to toast the occasion and their favourite dish. Not confident in the kitchen? Sometimes ordering in is less stressful. Whatever you decide, the decoration is key to a memorable night; fairy lights, candles and rose petals will create an intimate atmosphere.
